Louis
Milot has been in practice in the Peoria, Illinois area since 1990.
Mr. Milot is the founder of the Law Office of Louis P. Milot which is
a civil litigation law firm with a diverse practice involving
substantial representation of individuals, families and businesses.
Louis prides himself on establishing and maintaining relationships
built on trust and communication with each client. He takes the time
to get to know each client – their background, how they think, and
their goals – so that he can provide the best legal services
possible and meet his client's needs.”
He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and
the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Mr.
Milot is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law, where he
graduated in the top one third of his class. He received undergraduate degrees
in Management Finance and History from the University of Northern Iowa. He is a
member of the Illinois Bar Association and the Peoria County Bar Association.
He is also a member of the Illinois Parent's Attorney's Network (IPAN) and
affiliated with the National Association of Child Defense Attorneys. Mr. Milot
is also a certified Guardian ad Litem able to represent the best interests of
children who are wards of the court and in contested custody matters. He has
written for The Journal of Legal Medicine and Southern Illinois Law Journal.
Mr. Milot has taught workshops at Illinois Central College concerning legal
issues for small business owners and consumer rights. He currently serves on
the City of Washington Zoning and Planning Board of Appeals and has previously
served on the Board of Directors of the Tazewell County Resource Center. Mr.
Milot is a past President of the Lions Club of Washington.
